Pretty simple. \u00a0I use the flat beater on my old Kitchen Aid mixer. \u00a0I also put the milk and butter in a microwave measuring cup and heat them so the butter is melted in the milk<\/p>\n

Basic Mashed Potatoes<\/h2>\n

Ingredients<\/h3>
  • 6-8<\/span> potatoes<\/span> - I prefer russet potatoes<\/span><\/li>
  • 1\/2<\/span> cup<\/span> milk<\/span><\/li>
  • 4<\/span> tablespoons<\/span> butter<\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n

    Instructions<\/h3>
    • Wash and peel the potatoes.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Cut the potatoes into halves or quarters depending on how big they are.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Put the potatoes in a sauce pan and fill the pan with water to cover the potatoes.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Bring the potatoes to a boil.  Boil for about 20 minutes at a light boil until the potatoes are tender.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Drain the potatoes in a colander.  Then return them to the dry pan at low heat for a couple of minutes.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Put the potatoes into the mixing bowl and add about half of the milk and butter.  Beat until the lumps are smoothed out.  Then add the rest of the milk and butter and beat until fluffy.<\/span><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n
